I just read that everyone is a fake and are never who they really are.
In someways i can see the logic in a statement such as this. But i do disagree in most aspects, at one point or another a person will adopt unreal qualities and mannerisms, their reasoning for such an action?
First off can you define fake for me? Dictionary.com has many definitions for it how can i choose one that fits.. anything made to appear otherwise than it actually is; is the more fitting one for such a statement as above.
I think each situation is different to the next as is a person and their views, every action has a motive every experience has created personality traits that make you who you are. So to say that a person is a fake is an unfair accusation in all respects. I can honestly say that there are people who often change themselves in order to fit into a niche that they want. That can be viewed as fake can it not? But it is also change, this person is changing themselves. Who is to say that what they are now is who they really are as a person? They may be comfortable as who they are now. What or WHO are we to judge them .We say that people who alter themselves to fit in are fakes, but what of the people who have an addiction and then change themselves to benefit those around them, does the transformation they undertake thus make them fake also? Perhaps when they were high or drunk or on a trip etc. they felt as real as they could ever feel and now that they are sober they feel that they are not living how they really wanted to yet they live on transformed into something that makes us as a community feel safe. This to has the ability to be seen as fake, yet do we see it as fake if it benefits us?
I would be a right idiot if i believed that we were all who we really are supposed to be everyday of our lives. Though i think it is entirely wrong to ever call a person fake.
I'm sure anybody can be SEEN as a fake, but it all comes down to JUDGEMENT,
"let he who is without sin cast the first stone"** i think this is the ultimate quote said by Jesus Christ himself when a woman caught committing adultry was sentenced to be stoned to death. Although it is not entirely used in the same context now it fits. As the statement says everybody is a fake yet if we call another a fake, what are we to label ourselves? If the statement is to have a ring of acceptance from me i say this. Do we have the right to judge someone when we ourselves are no different to who they are (or who they are pretending to be) ?
Im really tired right now..i maybe contradicting myself. Do tell me if i am.
**He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her
